How much is fine silver worth?

I have 2 Engelhard bars of 999 fine silver that are each 1 troy oz. I am curious what they are worth and also if taken to a jeweler if 1 bar would be enough for a ring? Your help is appreciated!

It would depend on the day you sell it. Dealers buy silver at a percentage below the spot value and sell it for a percentage above. The spot price usually changes daily and most coin dealers can give you that price plus buy the silver. You can always try more than one coin dealer as well as jeweler. I expect silver to be much higher by the end of the year unless oil gets into line and the dollar gets stronger which is not likely but not impossible. I can't answer the other part of your question for I am not a ring maker maybe others out there can.

The price for an ounce of silver changes daily. Now it's about $15 for an ounce.. but with the economy and the value of the dollar as of right now you should be buying up silver.. not selling...
