BTW Exxon is selling off their gas stations in the US today, all 4000 of them, will this cause the price to rise further or fall?

  1. Gaffney SC $3.74

  2. 4.10 for premium in knoxville

  3. 4.05 Kalkaska Michigan

  4. $4.11 for regular unleaded here in Keene, NH.

  5. $3.88 near Houston. No they are just selling the gas stations They say there is no money in the retail portion of the business. They will sell gas to the stations and you may be surprised at the amount of Exxon stations you see that do not belong to Exxon. They are independently owned they just buy their gas from Exxon and just display their signs. Exxon is just selling their corporate stores the one that Exxon own. They will sell them to the highest bidders and may or may not remain to be an Exxon station. You would be surprised how many times I have dropped Chevron, Exxon, and Phillips branded gas into your local convenience store that has no brand name on it because it was .01 cents cheaper because they need to move out some gas so they will be low enough to receive their scheduled pipeline so they can hold it all. The only thing you can't do is drop Exxon gas into another branded type station. If the station is Exxon that's what it has to be if it says Chevron that's what it has to be. Lots of different branded gas is loaded at the same loading facility the gas is the same it just gets a diff rent additive. That's is the difference in the different brands only the additive the gas is the same. That's why when you see an advertisment on TV they say it's Chevron with Tecron and they never say their gas is better they sell you their additive. You will never here them say their gas is better no matter who it is because there is no telling who accualy refined the gas. It could have been Valero. I know this sounds weird but it is the truth I know it for a fact. My best advice is if it's the cheepest buy it if it runs ok in your car buy it again. It's so controlled by the goverment and state goverment for the epa that it dosn't realy make that much diffrence.
