Rugby League players can earn more from sponsorship then they do from playing.

The top player at each of the NRL clubs earn in the range of $500,000 to $600,000 per year.  They cna then earn that again to make AU$1 million.

After that with a Salary Cap of AU$4 million the amount earnt drops.

The min salary for a fulltime player is $40,000.  There are many players at each club who only earn this amount.

It is reported some Australian players have been offered AU$1 million a year to play in the ESL.
