  1. my son goes to a private school... uniforms about $150-200... supplies about $75.  and that does not include the monthly school payment

  2. My older children, grades 7 and 10, were $40 each for "textbook use fees" and my kindergartener was $20 so that was $100 right there.

School supplies for three kids with two of the three needing backpacks and two of them needing the velcro or zipper binders which were $15 each, and new lunch bags came to $125.

Clothes: I had bought my daughter about $70 worth of jeans and capris for the start of school at the trendy thrift store for $70 plus sneakers at the discount sporting goods store for $30. My kindergarten son I bought polos through the summer that came to probably $40 total and cargo pants that came to $40. I found NSS skater sneakers for $9.99 -- they used to be $40.  For my high school son, he will make do with tees and cargo shorts he has while it's warm. I got him $30 sneakers. He has some jeans he can use and I will fill in new pants for him when I can.

For the older kids to be in any activity: choir, athletics, whatever, they need an activity transportation card that is also a card that gets them into school games and concerts. Those were $35 each.

My kindergartener and daughter needed physicals and extra shots before starting school. We don't have health insurance so that was $25 each.

My daughter has to buy a shirt for choir. That will be $12.

I didn't put money on their lunch accounts because lunches are going to be $2.25 this year each. x 3 x 20 days of school a month = @$130.

No thank you. I'll pack more yummy and nutritious food in their lunches.

If I want my kindergartener to have milk at snack time it's $0.30 a day. I will probably load his card for that because we wouldn't want him to be the only one without.

It's weird though -- milk at lunch is $0.50.

  3. well my four kids are various ages in different schools.

    I think I'm spending $1000, literally.

    i have four kids.

    200 for clothes

    10 for the shirt

about 30-40 for each elective (2 electives)

  5. My sister and I had about $80 spent on us. We both go to public school, and we got our school supplies at Super Wal-Mart. We don't wear uniforms, we have plenty of clothes (except for bras and socks, we needed some new ones), didn't need a backpack (buy a Jansport if your looking, they last FOREVER!) and our school supplies weren't very expensive.

  6. well we are 1/2 way through the school year but...

fee's are about $180 for both kids then the government gives it back and a bit more for uniforms and excursions etc.

    Using uniforms from last year.

    box of tissues $2

    new sneakers $30

    thats about it.

    State school in Australia

  7. Nothing, we home school and already have plenty of pencils, paper and pens - our books come from the local library, so we have hardly any expenses at all.

  10. I have 3 kids in school. One in pre K, one in 1st, and one in 4th.

Fees: $35 each for the pre k, & 1st grader

Supplies: about $30 for the 4th grader

Shoes: :$80 ( I buy Skechers, they last longer)

My kids all had growth spurts over the summer.

They are in public school, but they have a dress code. They have to wear polos. Bottoms they can pretty much wear whatever, as long as it's solid.
