Where do you live, the prices are completely different for each transit company. Are you trying to ride a local bus? a greyhound? I mean a lot of factors go into that information. You should go to your states government webside and look for transportation.

WELL IT DEPENDS WERE YOU LIVE. IN CHICAGO YOU ONLY GET DISCOUNTED IF SCHOOLS IN. PLUS YOU HAVE TO HAVE A STUDENT RIDING PERMIT.
