How much is it to call another country? pls help?

how much do they usually charge?

I have been called by friends while I was in the Philippines and I want to know how much they are being charged for calling me.

I just want an estimate.

I don't know who your home phone provider is, or who their phone provider is.  Are they using a land line or a cellular phone line.  Are they using digital or VOIP or video service?  The price range is a significant difference.  If they go through the same company as I do, it wouldn't cost them anything, depending on the plan they have.  If they have a basic land line plan with the same company as me, it may be 1 cent to 3 cents a minute.  If they're through another company anywhere from 10 cents to $2.00 depending on their provider.  

We need a little more information as to where your located at to be able to find out the exact amount.  The telephone services are divided by area codes in the United states, Postal Codes in Canada and various other types of codes in different countries.  Without the code, we can only give you a ball park figure amount.  Sorry.  Best I can do.

It's really hard to know how much, your friends were being charged b/c they could of had a special plan which gives them low international rates, or used a pre-paid card bought at any big box store(target,walmart). These have rates from 15 - 50 cents a minute. Usually it cost them about 50 - 100 cents if they used there regular land line without any special plans.

Your friends could of used a really cheap service like Skype.com, with rates from 8 - 15 cents a minute depending on if you answered on a cell phone or land line.

If you want to talk with your friends around the world alot, check out www.skype.com, and then you can call each other for free.  You only need a high speed connection, a microphone and an account.  I use this service alot to contact friends in Asia.  If you have a camera connected to your comupter you can video conference for free as well.  This site has other options that are very useful too.

Since we don't know where you live then we can't tell you the rate as they vary from one country to another.  Also vary from one cell phone carrier to another in case they were calling from a cell phone and you didn't know it.  It would also vary if they used an IP phone like Vonage.  A complete guess would be 25 cents a minute.
