How much is it to get a 924S Porsche Engine?

Hi. i have seen this 924S Porsche at my mechanics, and it has been there for quite some time. I'm not really sure if it's for sale, but i do know that it has no engine. I have been trying to look on line to find the prices for the engine, but have only come up with stuff to make the car faster or to swap engines. I do not know a lot about cars, but i do know that i want to research the car more before i plan on buying it(if its for sale). i also know i dont want to make the car faster, or do custom work on it. it has a speedometor that goes up to 160mph, if that helps. i just want to know the price on an engine for it

don't mess with the b*****d child of Porsche. Save up and get a real Porsche

your best bet would be to get an engine out of a 924 or an  Audi of similar year with a I4 at a salvage yard, by the way, the speedo may go to 160 but that cars top speed was/is mid 120's.



The engine is actually an Audi station wagon engine so a I4 Audi engine of the same time period will work.

ETA: if it is a 86-88 924S you actually need a 944 engine.

It is not worth the headache that you are asking about. You will have too much money into the car and you would be better off buying a running car.
