How much is it to paint pottery at one of those places?

If you are going to spend that kind of money, why not take a pottery class at your local college?  I think $45 is a bit steep for two small items.  If you don't want to do that, there are tons of sites online that you can do it yourself.

I am sure the pricing is different depending on where you go, but so you have an idea, were we went it cost per piece (I did a picture frame, my daughter a light switch cover) it cost $45.

That does include your paint, stencils, and firing.

Expensive (I think) but lots of fun!
