  1. It depends on which university you wish to attend, each university charge the own price for tuition.

Furthermore, unlike in the U.K. medical school is a graduate program which means you must have a Bachelor's Degree (4-years of higher education) before you go to medical school in the U.S.h

So for you would have to:

    - Finish High-school

    - Complete A-levels

    - Complete a a three-year bachelor's degree (pre-med) at a university.

    - Apply to U.S. medical schools.

So you will be at least 21 before you can start applying to medical schools in the U.S. The price ranges quite significantly. Take a look at the link below for more information on medical schools.

  2. If you are a UK resident/citizen, and you plan to practice medicine in the UK, it will be far, far less expensive, and take less time, for you to study medicine in the UK than it would be for you to do the same in the US:

    - Comparable universities are more expensive in the US (say, in the UK, Oxford would cost you 3000 GBP per year. A comparable US uni might cost you 10,000 GBP per year.)

    - Bachelors degrees take four years in the US, while in the UK, they take three

    - In the UK, medicine is usually studied at the undergraduate level. In the US, that's not the case. To study medicine in the US, you must already have a bachelors degree in a different subject. (So you first must get your four year bachelors degree, then apply to medical school, where you'd study for three or so years, etc.)

If I've just crushed your hopes of studying in the US, I do have something to offer you. You could chose to do part of your residencies in the US. You could also try to do a year, semester or summer in the US while you study.

This requires further research on your part.
