How much is medical insurance and retirement in Canada?

    Send me info by email about your age and smoking or non information and which province you are residing.


  2. It varies by province/territory.  In Ontario, basic coverage is free.  In Alberta, you have to buy insurance, but it's much cheaper than the States.  (You also pay no provincial tax in Alberta, which explains why there is no free health care.)

    As for retirement, there is the Canada Pension Plan, but it's not enough to retire on so most people save money in a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) which gives you a tax break for saving.
