How much is money should I get for babysitting a 1 year old and a six year old?

I never babysat before I dont know how much to ask for.

10 dollars for the first hour and 5 for every hour after. That's what I paid and my sitter seems fine with that.

Um yeah all the answers that say 10+ they are full of it im a mom and if i was going to pay some kid $17 an hr to watch my child i would need t0 be rich I work in a DR's office and i only make$12 an hr. I wouldnt expect more than $2-$3 an hr that you are actualy watching the kids, and dont exoect to make more that $20 a day.

i wouldnt ask for more than 15 an hour, but it depends how long, the longer you stay with kids, the more wild they get!

The one-year-old won't be nearly as much trouble as the six-year-old.  

The parents are probably desperate for a babysitter.  I'd ask for at least $10.00 per hour.

i usaually get $3.00 an hour per kid.
