Hello,

I have a 1903 Springfield 30/06. It was used in WWII and possibly Vietnam. It is in good shape but someone put a sport stock on it. So now i need to sell it but i cannot find anything to price it off of. Any help would be great.

Thank you

  1. Check here for the value and price comparisons.*..gunbroker.com, auctionarms.com, gunsamerica.com, icollector.com....

  2. About $350.  It's been modified and unfortunately not very valuable in that condition.

  3. A 1903a3 rifle in original and complete military configuration will sell from $500 at the low end and up to $1000 for really exceptional examples or rare models (there are very, very few at this end of the price range).

One in a "sporter" configuration, as you have a replacement stock, usually gets a lot less, with the range more likely starting in the $300 area, unless some quality improvements have been added like trigger groups, new barrel, etc.

If someone wants a collector gun, yours is at the low end as the stock has been lost and a new milspec replacement will cost them $150 plus hardware.

If someone wants a shooting gun, they are going to want to know how the gun currently measures in terms of wear. Specifically throat erosion and muzzle wear. A gun smith or collector well have the gauges to take these measurements.

Edit: It's a 1931 year production rifle. The barrel is likely not original, look for another date on the barrel. Doubtful your gun was used in the Vietnam war, but WWII likely.

  4. Does it have any of the military stamps on it?

Flaming bomb, US or anything like that?
