I have a 1975 trihull w/ 50hp evinrude. I put all new floors and recovered seats, new carpets. Engine runs perfect fires every time. I am going to sell on craigslist. How much should I ask?

  1. junk... $1000 tops

  2. With or without trailer?

    With - $2000

    Without - $1500

  3. The unfortunate truth is that a boat, or anything really, is worth only what someone will pay you for it.  Your boat is an older one, and today there are far more boats for sale than there are buyers.  It is definitely a buyer's market.  Price it on the lower end of what has been suggested if you want or need to make a quick sale.  Now is the right time to look for buyers as we head into the spring/summer boating season.  If you are willing to wait, ask higher, but be willing to come down.   I sold a 35 foot 1972 Ericson last spring for a lot less than I thought it was worth, but sometimes we just have to bite the bullet and accept that a boat we have lovingly cared for may not have the same appeal to a buyer.  I am a boat lover too, but I have seen both sides of the market recently.  Best of luck and I hope you are able to make a good deal.

  4. I think that its an old style and will sell for about 1000 to 1500, People will try and get it even cheaper on craigslist

  5. I just bought a 78 tri hull with a running 80 hp mercury o/b with a trailer and a depth finder already installed for under $1000 if that helps any. Guy was asking $1000 for it but dropped the price to get rid of it. Could have probably got $1500 or so. Just depends on if you want to drop it or if you have room to store it until you get the price you are looking for.

  6. I would say list it for 5,000 dollars and say "Am willing to bargain."  You cal always lower the price, but never raise it.  When my dad was buying a boat, he bargained and saved us $1,000.

  7. I worked at a Marina on the Great Lakes for 5 years.  I have seen a lot of boats sold and purchsed.  Assuming the boat's Evinrude runs well, you're looking at listing it in the following ways:

    1.  Want top $, but can wait? List it for $3,650 obo

    2.  Want to sell it quick? List it for $2600 firm
