How much is my schwinn worth?

Question

It is a Starlet III, and has no rust what so ever. It is purple, has two paint chips, on the chain cover, and the name is fully intact. Has both front and rear fenders, and has 2 racks also. A black scwhinn seat, and purple schwinn approved handlebars. Any idea?

I don't know, but vintage schwinns tend to be somewhat valuable because they bring back memories (pretty much everyone used to have a stingray!) and they are a big part of americana.

Ide say in between $150 and $300, could be more ?? but this is what i think

There is good news and bad news for you.

First the bad news. Being a girls bike, these are usually only worth the value of the parts that can be used on boys bike restoration. Girls bikes are almost always cannibalized to restore boys bikes. So, figure somewhere under $100.

Now the good news. More people are beginning to realize that girls bikes are becoming scarce because of the cannibalization going on so there is a small group that now prefers girls Schwinns. They also realize that they can pick up girls models cheaply. Sooooo, at this level you could probably expect to get, um, about the same $100 but have the good feeling that your bike won't be torn apart.
