Question:

How much is plastic surgery?

Due to a recent accident, I now have two vertical scars between my eyebrows about 2-3 inches in length. My insurance company refuses to pay for plastic surgery as I didn't file a claim for the accident. I now look like I am always frowning. If I have the surgery and pay myself, can someone tell me approx. what I could expect to pay? I live in Texas if that makes a difference. Thanks.

  1. This is a good question. As insurance companies tighten their belts and watch their own finances closely, they pay for member claims less frequently. I agree with you that its very frustrating.

I'm a plastic surgeon in Seattle WA, and treat many patients with facial scars. I'd need to see your photographs to determine the amount of scar revision surgery you would need. I can tell you that in general, a scar revision on the forehead can be done on an outpatient basis for less than $4000. This would payable prior to surgery. Its unlikely that your insurance company will cover the cost, but our clinic can help you file the paperwork.

You can contact me through my website and send me your photos. If you're interested in having your surgery in Seattle, we can give you a price quote over the phone.
