How much is preschool?

my son will be going to a laboratory school at a community college. the waiting list is so long and there is a great demand to get in. the ratio is one to three, sometimes four.

the enrollment fee is $50. and the tuition is $600 per month for full time (8:30-4:00) In addition we are 'required' to provide $50 worth of classroom supplies OR volunteering OR cash donation to the classroom.

Is this usual?

I would say that this is a very common price for preschool / daycare. I would also think that when kids are in school it really does not matter where they go to school you are required to provide different supplies for your student. So there for if you feel that it is going to be a good school and benefit your child then I would do it.

It sounds very reasonable and fair to me.  Also, the request for classroom supplies and/or volunteering is required at most schools.
