  1. There is no way to be able to tell you without knowing what kind of surgery you are talking about. Also, hospitals and doctors charges are different.

    They would be counting the medication you were on, anesthetic, IV solutions & needles,  bandages, and many other things. They could charge you for a tube of toothpaste. A tylenol (plain) could cost as much as $10 if not more. Could be less in some areas.  


  2. There's no possible way to answer that as a general question.  It depends on the surgery.  A heart and lung transplant would run considerably more than an appendectomy.

    Costs would also vary from hospital to hospital and surgeon to surgeon.

  3. Obviously you do not live in Canada, surgery costs a Canadian nothing more than the income tax he pays. In the USA, surgery bills must be enormous, it is difficult to come up with an average, but I would hazard a guess that it would be in the $10000 range.
