As far as price is concerned, most cards are fairly reasonable. as time passes, technology advances and they can be produced at less and less cost. For a 2 gigabyte card (fairly large) you can expect to pay around $20.

The more advanced your camera, the greater the memory each photo takes up. If you have a small Sony type camera, a 2 gigabyte card will be plenty. For a bigger camera, like a canon, you might think about getting a bigger card ( a 4 gigabyte card will run you around $40).
