How much is the average salary for an engineer and cost of living in Iran?

Now, in our company , which is a small one , a brand new engineer earns about 400,000 tomans a month and senior engineers have a salary about 2000,000 tomans.

Costs of living in Iran (Tehran) for a 3-person family approximatley is:

food: 150,000 T

transport: 50,000 T

rent (studio): 300,000 T (in a middle class area)

other: 100,000 T

which is totally about 600,000 tomans per month. So, a young engineer in Tehran has to have a working spouse.

In other cities , cost of living is lower , but wages are lower as well.

In the Islamic Republic, there are no fixed rules for anything. You find that most things are out of order, decisions are made arbitrarily, and daily life depends on how well you fit in and swim with the tide (and not necessarily on your qualifications and your competence)

Now to address your question, there is virtually NO criteria whatsoever. It all depends on who your work for, how well they know you, if your're family or not, whether you were recommended by someone else ... and lots and lots of other factors.

cost of living depend to city that you want live. Tehran and Shiraz are expensive cities. in Shiraz with a high-normal living for a person per month: 700,000 Tomans that about 400,000 ~ 500,000 for Apartment
