How much is the cost of living in barcelona spain?

It's more expensive than here, but less expensive than virtually anywhere else in Europe.  Just to give you a sense, a soda is 2-3 Euros, a modest meal at a small restaurant for one is 15-25 Euros, an average haircut is 35 Euros, a taxi ride from one end of the city to the other is 20 Euros, it's 25 Euros to ride the tour bus, and it's 10-15 Euros to get into one of the Gaudi homes if you're sightseeing.  A nice modern but not over the top 1 bedroom apartment near the Ramblas (busy tourist and shopping district) will run you $700 Euros.

My nieghbor just got an apartment there...room and board for $550 a month, one bedroom furnished...sounds cheap. Food, drinks, income...I don't know.
