  1. They go dormant if they've not been used in a long time. Mine had 59p in it lol but it still remained!

  2. Some accounts you don't need any money in another ones you need at least one pound, I advise you that you only take out 4 pounds in case.

  3. £1 with some banks...

  4. Best to close it..........stop all the mail it generates.

  5. It depends on whether your account has a minimum balance.

Most adult accounts don't but some student and children's accounts do have a minimum.

If you leave nothing in the account then the bank may chose to close the account if you ignore it for 6-12 months.

  6. i have a natwest adapt account and apart  from when i first opend it, ther has to be £1 left in at all times, i know some places it has to be ten. Check with the company online.

This is beacause it is a young persons account, it will be different if it's a proper over 18's credit card but i susspect it's not.

  7. you can take out 4.99 you have to leave in a few pence and you cant take the 4.99 or 4.98 out with your card, have to go in to the bank

  8. Bank account don't generally close, you can take out the last £5 at the bank counter and it will stay open for a while. The bank will write you a letter if there thinkingof closing it but i've never known it to happen. I have one thats had nothing in it for 6 months and i've not had anything from the bank. As long as your in credit, don't have an overdraft it will stay open for as long as you want it to.

  9. Zero pence, they rarely close them, they still need your permission.

So yes you can get your money out.

  10. I have £1 in a Barclays bank account, I wanted to close it but the woman talked me into keeping it open. I don't need it as I have other accounts, so thats probably the minimum u can have in it.U need to check with the customer services in your individual bank as it may vary

  11. Probably.  You're going to have to go into the bank to get the £5 out anyway so why not just ask the teller?
