How much is the maximum weight for a luggage from US?

i heard its now reduced to 50lbs, from the old 70lbs,but my travel agency said i can still bring a 70lbs. luggage because i bought the ticket before july 1. im now confused, i dont wanna pay fine or reduce my luggage right in the airpot.can someone pls give me accurate info?thanks!

46 lbs or 23 kilos.  I live in usa and just came back from traveling abroad a month ago.  its accurate!!  46lbs!!  dont over load!!!  used to be over 50 but is 46 now!!
