  1. depends on there performance.  I go from one penny to 15% of the cost of a meal.      ")

  2. Having been a waitress until I had my daughter I tend to over tip but it's because I know what it's like to run your butt off for people and have them leave you lint from the bottom of someones purse.

The most I've tipped someone was $20 for a $15.00 tab and the least I've tipped was $5 to the Domionoes driver because the pizza place was right accross the street.

  3. 15-25% each time

well i did tip nothing once they didn't have a tip area when i used my Credit card at sonic!  so i felt bad!

  4. the normal tipping range is 20% of your bill.

  5. For food, 10% is not the standard in the U.S.  The minimum is 15%, but 18-20% is more common in cosmopolitain areas.  I'll tip up to 25% for extra special service, 15% for poor service.

  6. It depends on where you are. Some places have a set tip, it will even be billed on your receipt. Where I live the minimum is $15%. The maximum is up to the tipper. However my rule of thumb, and I have been a waitress before is 15% minimum  and 20% max. Hope this helps.

  7. I was a server for 3 years.

15% is minimum (or tax x2 (tax is 8% where I'm from)

Or if that seems like too little a standard $5.

In Texas servers only make 2.13 an hour. Keep that into consideration. If they are a good server and they waited on you for an hour, pay them what you would want to be paid in an hour. If they aren't good, don't be a total jerk and stiff them, people make mistakes, and maybe this person was overwelmed with tables. Tip them as little as you like. But never stiff, thats VERY rude. No matter how bad a server is, I just can't do that. If they are completly incompetent, let the manager know.

  8. Double the tax.  This may not work, depending on where you live.

Generally 15% is the rule of thumb, but you can give less or more depending on the service.  With some restaurants, when you have a really large party, they'll figure the tip into the check.

  9. About 2 inches. The rest is similar to the one used in snooker.
