the winner on the women's and men's side each won 1 million euro which is less than $1 million because the euro's exchange rate is less than the dollar.  but when they go to wimbledon, that's a different story.  i think the winner for both singles title will win 1.1 million or something pounds....which is more because the british pound is a lot higher than the us dollar.

i don't think US Open pays the highest...there is series of US Summer Hard Court events called the US Open Series...if a player collects the max points during the US Open Series ( i.e. wins it )...if he /she also wins the US Open...he / she gets a 1 Million USD more than the ususal non-Us Open Series Winner, who wins the US Open...

i guess the Masters Cup / Year-end Championships ( in Women )..offers the highest prize money..
