  1. The SkyRail (to give it's proper title) is completely free.

    As a bit of history, the SkyRail is built on the old formation for the first Maglev in britain, opened in 1960. The maglev was closed in the 80's or early 90's due to technical problems (my mother once road it and it broke down half way and she had to walk on the track for the remaining bit!).

    TThe maglev unit (there was only ever one maglev track) was scrapped and the stations for it removed. The track for it was left in place however, and was removed whem SkyRail was constructed, in 2004/2005 for it's opening in 2006.
