  1. You can go to http://www.bahn.de and select English if you do not speak German and you can get the schedules of the trains there and all the prices. I usually recommend ICE it is the fastest.  IF you are going on vacation you may want to consider getting a German Rail Pass instead which will allow you to use any train all day long for the amount of days that you purchase it for. The minimum is 4 days I think.

that would mean 4 full days use of any train of the class you select anywhere in Germany all day. You can also get a Eur rail pass which covers most Europe but is a lot more money.

    So good luck to you.

  2. www.db.de

There are several possibilities: High speed (ICE), or Intercity (IC) along river Rhine, or regional trains, special offers for the weekends etc etc.

Look it up on the DB (Detsche Bahn AG) page.

  3. Check by the www.bahn.de and put Cologne to Frankfurt and give the class like 1. or 2.  than you see the price.

They also showing RB (Regionalbahn) or ICE. The prices are different.

  4. There are several stations in Cologne and Frankfurt but if you are going from the main stations (HBF) tickets can be bought in the UK from raileurope.co.uk for £31 (British pounds) equivalent to about  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚‚¬43.

Trains are very frequent - every half hour or so.

  5. hello,

    I'm from Germany,and i looked at the Homepage from deutsche bahn.With the IC(intercity) you pay 38€,and with the ICE 25-58E€.Look at http://www.db.de/site/bahn/en/start.html , it's in English!Have fun in Germany,GreenDay

  6. I think that any train would cost a lot of money no matter where they come from or go to.

  7. I'd recommend the ICE (fast train) that leaves in Cologne 9:53, 10:53 etc. A regular ticket will set you back 42 euros, which I think is due to go up to 43 some time soon but don't quote me on that one. If you plan well ahead, you can get a special rate ticket at 29 euros.

If money is an issue but time is not, you may want to take a train that is slower and cheaper. That would be the IC instead of ICE, and the regular rate there is 39. And finally, taking regional trains and changing once on the way, you'll only pay about 30 euros, but it does make the journey last three and a half hours instead of two and a half.

The comment above about going to the airport instead is not what I'd recommend. You'd save about five euros, which you'd then spend on the slow train that takes you to the city but stops at every minor town on the way.

  8. It would be about 75 euros and it is cheaper if you go into the Frankfurt Airport (if you can)
