Question:

How much is the train from Madrid to Seville?

I would like to take my family to Andalucia around Christmas. Malaga is the most popular airport (ie. the fastest flying route), but people tell us to skip Malaga and explore Seville, Granada etc.

It's hard to fly into those cities, but Madrid is well served by airlines.

The Spanish Rail website is only partly in English ... and I can't find the price of this ticket (2 adults and one baby less than a year).

Gracias!!

  1. The AVE prices vary from 65,30€ to 72,20€ per person (adult) one way.

However after reading your complete question, I have a suggestion to make.Your flights from the UK to Malaga are very well priced. Malaga itself is not the most attractive city in Andalucia (I know I've lived in the province for nearly 35 yrs.).

However it IS the best base to use to visit the other cities in Andalucía.... You can easily drive (or go by tour bus, or even by train) to Cordoba, Seville and Granada from Málaga, and return in the evening to a comfortable hotel near a lovely beach and relax for a swim in the pool and a nice meal while you organize your next days activities.

Other than the three cities I've named you have Jerez de la Frontera (visit  the Sherry winecellars and the spanish riding school) . Ronda with its famous bullring and bridge over the "Tajo".. Mijas (where I live) which is the little tourist village par excellence with its famous "burro taxis".

This area has many things to offer, besides the inexpensive flight fares from the UK!

Whichever you choose, I hope you enjoy your visit. Christmas is a nice time to visit, as our climate is much milder than in the most of Europe.

Depends on which train you take and what class the AVE is more expensive and much faster.  I would think the baby is free as long as it rides on someones lap but not sure. The prices are under "Precios"
