Hey i was wondering how much money it would cost to run this daily (per day), a computer with a 750 Watt PSU, (based on 24 hours a day)

Other basic specs

9800GX2 card

4GB DDR2 ram

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3GHZ cpu

  1. You will be using about 300 watts idle and 500 under full load. So lets say 350 watts 24/7 since it is probably sitting idle most of the time.

    0.35kw x 24h = 8.4kwh

    $0.08 per kwh x 8.4kwh = $0.67 per day


  2. The power supply gives you the maximum draw.

    The computer doesn't use all that power all the time.

    Are you running a monitor as well?

  3. The power draw is at most 750W... but you are probably drawing much less. Let's say 600W as a guess.

    As far as cost... depends where you live. Look at your utility bill for the cost per kWH.

    Average about 13.7 cents per kWH in CA.

    so... if you live in Ca., and your computer is pulling 600W (0.6 kW) and it runs 24/7, it costs you about $2/day.
