How much is this engine?

Question

ok, this is the biggest engine ive heard of other than drag racing engines and such. its an 8.8 liter (540 cubic inch) engine made for the pontiac trans am. (yes, i do know that it would basically obliterate gas) so i guess i have 3 questions

1) how much would a new one cost?

2) how much would a used one with around 50,000-75,000 miles on it cost?

3) where can i find one?

You might better go for the 572 cubic inch Chevrolet big block in a crate from GM. They make two versions of this motor. The 12498793 has 620 hp. and 650 lb.,- ft. of torque! of course if you're after the ultimate power the 12498827 has 720 hp. with 686 lb. - ft. torque. Either of these motors complete will cost under $12,000.

the 540 is a 502 bored out and it isn't a factory engine so you will never find one in the junkyard, look in hot rod magazines as they are a specialty built aftermarket engine that costs between 10 and $11,000.

As far as I know that was a specialty motor and was not used in production models.(so your outta luck)

Your next choice I believe is a 500cu Cadillac motor.
