How much is to much Ibuprohen when breastfeeding for pain?

I get alot of Pains in my chest after Im done breastfeeding.. I take 3 sometimes 4 200MG and Im wondering is it okay that much for breastfeeding... cuz thats what it takes to get the pain gone

  1. Don't take that more than 4 times a day. It is safe for breastfeeding, but you should not be having pain. It's time to consult a lactation consultant!


  2. Have you gone to the doctor or a lactation consultant about this? I would check with your doctor or on the back of the pack, it usually says if its safe for breastfeeding and if theres a limit because of it.

  3. It should be ok. My obgyn gave a prescription for 800 mg to take every 8 hours, but I just do what you do and take 4 of the OTC stuff (Advil), it's all the same. I am breastfeeding, but the pain is not in my chest. If you're not positive, just call your your doc or a Lactation Consultant. Maybe they have something better for chest pain, or maybe the LC will know some tricks to breastfeeding without the pain.
