I live in Youngstown, OH. My waterbill is between $85 - 100 per month. No trash added. I called and they analized my usage and said that is normal for a family of four. I think it's high. I have lived in other parts of the country and have never paid this much.

  1. You might need to check your house for any leaks. My water bill was really really high like using 20,000 gallons of water in only one month. I lived by myself and knew something was not right. I called a plumber and asked him to see if he could find anything wrong with the house and he found a leak. After it was fixed everything went back to normal.

(my bill is about $20 a month)

  2. That seems like a lot.  I don't have a water bill as such, other than the electricity costs of running the pump for my well.  However, the downside is that if something goes wrong, the bill is all mine, and can be quite high.

  3. I pay $20 including trash

  4. My bill is about 25$ a month. and water is precious in Israel.

  5. That is expensive , I live in Colonie New York ( Albany suburb) and we pay twice a year and cost is $2.00 per thousand gallons , works out to be about $140 per year..

  6. I'm sorry I can't help you because I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina and we have well water...but that is a lot of money for water!

  7. SGD$500+

    About USD$333

I have 8 family members.Sometimes my sister and my uncle's mum come and have a stay.

I think mine is very high too.

  8. wow...seems high, but mine is zero...I'm on a well.

  9. I live in Michigan and when I lived in a small city I paid around $45 per month for water and sewer together.  I have heard of others (in other cities, of course) having water bills around $80 a month!  I think it just depends how much each city decides to charge.

  10. I pay £60 a month.

  11. How many cubic feet of water do you use per month?   I usually use about 100 cubic feet/ month, but could use up to 300 and still pay the base of  $11.25.   After that its an extra 1.25 per 100 cubic  feet of water used per month.   Sewer is 45 no matter how much or little water a person uses.

  12. i live in nky and it costs us - a family of 4 - about $70 per month for water - with all of nky's taxes added in (trash, school, etc...) then we pay about $70 per month for sanitation (with all of the same taxes added in).

and this is after our waterline broke and had to be replaced

  13. well Neighbor I am less then 25 minutes away from you my bill on the high side was 40 that is for 3 of us but i do a min. of 5 loads of laundry a day and i rent now but with if our bill goes over 60 me and my upstairs neighbor split the bill and with 6 of us, we haven't had to pay a water bill, i think your being screwed and would look into it further.

  14. My current water bill is zero, as I'm on a well.

When I lived on city water  though, it was $75 a month in one house.  That was for a private water system, consisting of 9 houses.  So it was public water that we used, but the system itself was privatly owned by the 9 homeowners.  The system was rapidly failing, as it was about 50 years old, and the $75 was to pay for all the repairs (patches) needed to keep water flowing to everyones house.  The local public water system did not want to bother buying us out.

We were finally able to combind with another private water system near us, and be bought out by the public water system.  That cost each homeowner $2000, to be paid over ten years (on their bills), and $25 a month for water.

This was all just water, not septic, as the homes were all on private septic systems.

At my Mom's house, same state, and county as the house above, it cost her $10 a month for water.  Again, no septic.

Perhaps the above houses were unfair to compair to yours however.  They were in Western Washington, where moisture/rainfal is complete plentiful, and we have fantastic watershed areas.

However when I lived in Eastern Washington, on the desert side of the state, water was $5 a month, and that included sewer.  I was in a four plex apartment building at that time.

Your water price for a private home with four people in it seems high to me also.

P.S.  I only moved from Washington three years ago...those prices are still current prices.

  15. Here we have a base service fee of $7.50 plus $5.00 per 1000 gallons used. Sewer is the same.

  16. It would be better if you listed how much water you used rather than the cost. My family of 3 uses around 3000-3500 gallons a month during non-watering months and I think JUST the water costs ~$20 but then there is sewer and trash as well.

  17. Wow! That is extremely high. I have four people living in my home and ours average is $25.  We usually only shower once a day per person though. But we live in Texas, maybe it is different there than here. You should speak to someone else, maybe a supervisor.

  18. Yeah that sounds really high. Mine averages about $25 a month and we have 3 people in our house.

  19. I have a family of four and never pay more than $20/month.

I don't pay sewage and this is taken care of on my lot.

  20. £60  it is afrin's bill

sometimes it raises cose i'm a bit careless

  21. You need to tell us how many gallons of water you are using.  And for all the people who say that they pay nothing for well water, when was the last time you had to dig a new well, or even just replace the pump.  Well water comes with a price too.  Here in Paradise Valley, AZ. I pay 25% more per gallon than my neighbors across the street simply because the name of the town changes!  How fair is that?  Same water supplier.
