800 pounds will be okay if you want to stay in Madrid or Barcelona.  

In Barcelona, 3 stars hostal cost you 60 euros per night; menu del dia cost you about 18 euros so the meals will cost you about 50 euros; admission fee will be 30 euros but depends on how many place you visit.  

In Madrid, hostal is cheaper then Barcelona and about 40 euros (with bathroom) .  some of the museum will be free on sunday.  meals also cheaper.  Find the pubs which supply Tapas not 1/2 racions will cost less.

Also, beer is cheaper then coke.
