  1. With the wealth of details you provided, it's easy to make an estimate... lol

Well I assume you ask this question because money matters and you want to save it. There are 20euro/nite hostels, 35euro/nite dirt-cheap hotels, but a comfortable, charming hotel will set you back 120 -170 euro (120 being a real bargain) for double occupancy. You can have an excellent dinner at a resto with ambiance for under 30 euro... though if you go to a touristy resto, you'll pay a premium. Transportation isn't expensive if you stick to the metro & walking (5 euro/day). Then there are entrance fees to museums, Eiffel Tower, lunch & drinks...

Not including shopping (which is expensive in Paris anyway), you could budget 300 euro/day (150 per person) for a perfectly lovely vacation and a little mindful spending. Half this on days where you are spending your nights elsewhere(??). Of course your actual spending can run well over or less this; a savvy backpacker could visit Paris for 40-50 euro/day, whereas in the other direction, the sky's the limit...

If you seriously want to save money, do research! Look at budget travel guides, google "cheap eats paris," knowing is half the battle! :)

  2. Our costs ran us about $600 per day for everything (hotel, food, travel, entertainment).  That's about 435 euros per day, at the current rate of exchange.  It can be done for less, of course, or more.  But I think our costs were kind of average for 2 tourists doing the things most folks would do in Paris on vacation, while indulging ourselves a little.

  3. What will you do with the other 3 nights?  Take a train to Belgium?

Paris is not cheap, but the actual cost depends on where you stay.  For example, a youth hostile will cost $20 a night, while a five star hotel will run $400 a night.  Same with food.

I suggest you try the lonely planet website, as they have alot of useful info on costs.
