How much it costs to fix a Roof leak

My home has a leak somewhere near the skylight. I called a guy to look at it and he said we can fix it by replacing 2 feet of shingles around a 2' X 4' skylight. The roof is only 5 years old. How much labor is required to do this work? The guy told me he needs to employ 3 people full day to fix it and it costs 1200 for labor. I think it’s too much money to put some new water proofing material around the skylight and fixing new shingles.

How much of labor is required by professionals to do this work?

  1. 250+ tax or depends on how bad it is

  2. Call comebody else.

I would fix that leak by myself in a couple of hours at most, for around $250-$300. And I'm old.

  3. If the roof is only 5 years old, it shouldn't cost that much to fix.

(And it certainly doesn't take 3 people a whole day to fix it).

This is assuming the job was done correctly when the roof

was put on 5 years ago.

    This guy was shuckin' you.

  4. almost all skylights require maintenance dont fall for the shigles trick

depending on your skylight it needs silicone no way its more than 2 bucks or tar either way its cheaper than 10 bucks
