It all depends on what you want. If you are a gaming freak who wants to play all the latest games it should cost you above 40,000Rs to buy a system. I would recommend at least 2GB of memory, 200GB HDD, a Core 2 Duo processor in the 8 series and a graphic card (at least the nvidia 8 series and not below the 8600 GT). If you don't wanna play games you can take a slower processor. Give due budgetary attention to your monitor and speaker system. You don't want to end up with a gaming rig that has no let-out for its power.

If you're senseful enough and not go for "THE BIGGEST PRICE IN EVERYTHING", you can get a really really good spec for under £500. Core 2 quads (especially my beloved Q6600) have many added bonuses compared to core 2 extremes, for example, and they're 1/4th of the price.

Graphic cards are the same; you can even OC some.

For memory, you can get the biggest, most badass, fastest memory without spending too much.

And finally, for motherboards, it depends what you want.
