Question:

How much lettuce should I plant, and how often, to be self-sufficient during winter?

I'd like to plant enough lettuce so I can virtually eat lettuce daily for the whole year. I have no idea how much I should plant or how often. Space isn't an issue.

If you're familiar with planting lettuce, perhaps you'd also like to suggest lettuce types to me :)

  1. I grow 'salad mix' in a pot and it's doing fine.  For fun, you might try hydroponic growing.  Below is a link a publication on the University of Hawaii's website.  Lots of good info there.


  2. we grow a lettuce called coz the outer leaves are pulled as you want them, very good for salads
