I don't think they ever will - they still haven't found a cure for the flu or a cold yet.  These are all 'Super Viruses' they constantly evolve - as soon as scientists/doctors get close to finding a cure the disease evolves into a more stronger version

AHHHHHH! Too long. The technology is available, gene therapy and the manipulation of certain oligoneucleotides binding to the viral RNA strands could work if only more money was invested
