they had plenty of time since they knew about the cot. and last year in the cot races, nothing but complaints about right side tires. what kind of contract does goodyear have with nascar? i bet people like hoosier or firestone or someone else would love a chance bid for that contract.

  1. When is their contract up????

Maybe the tire companies need to make up prototypes for each track and test them all.  Then NASCAR could sign on the company with the best tire at each track.  Maybe a different company every week, but better tires for each track.  I know, I'm not asking for much!  Just a thought...LOL....

  2. long time

  3. Maybe Hoosier will come back and force Goodyear to quit bringing c**p to the track.

  4. they should switch to Yokohama

  5. Goodyear has a contract to be the only supplier through 2012 I think it is. NASCAR won't allow two suppliers, it would cause all kinds of controversy.

  6. They will always be the supplier for CUP.  As long as NASCAR is run like a "mom and pop" company by France, it will always be run like a dictatorship. France will keep Goodyear regardless of how bad the racing is.

Helton looked like a fool Sunday and France didn't have the nerve to show his face.

Everybody keeps saying Goodyear does the best they can.  Maybe that's true, but perhaps Firestone's best is better than Goodyear's.....

  7. Goodyear has a contract that makes them the supplier through 2012.

  8. I think that they will be in for a while and they have a little bit of an excuse since the COT wasn't used in Indianapolis last year, but they still should have tested more this year like they did at Darlington earlier how they had two tire tests there.  Anyway, as long as Goodyear keeps paying enough for their contract, Goodyear will be supplying the tires.

  9. Forever.

  10. All we can hope for is Goodyear to be bought out by bridgestone  and with the j**s quest for quality we may get a good racing tire.  Goodyear on its own will never get better as long as they have France in their back pocket

  11. i think i read the goodyear contract ended after  2010or 2011

  12. Hoosier had supplied tires at one point then pulled out. They were having nothing but trouble then. But NASCAR did alllow both tire manufactures at the same race.

  13. forever

    dont you get it

  14. Until they get bought out by Hankook.

  15. I was just telling a friend "you know, NASCAR has allowed Toyota to be at the show the next thing you will see is a Japan tire like Brigestone".
