I am 30wks and 3 days pregnant and was just informed that i have short cervix along with excess amniotic fluid. I was told that the normal cerviz is 2.5cm and mine is 1.2cm. My question is has anyone ever had this before? How long were you able to stay pregnant?

  1. at 30 weeks that baby is viable...don't lose hope...good luck to you....

  2. All three of my cousins had this.  My oldest cousin had her last two babies at 32 weeks and then 30 weeks.  My middle cousin had her first baby at 32 weeks, then had her cervix stitched up for the last 2, and I think she had them both around the 36-37 week mark.  My youngest cousin had her baby at 24 weeks.

I'm assuming your doctor talked to you about what you could do to extend your pregnancy as long as possible?  I believe there are shots or hormones you can get or you can get your cervix sewn (I think its called a cerclage?).
