How much luggage can i take to flordia?

i'm going to flordia in december for christmas and new years and im flying with contential airlines and i'm wondering how many bags can go on the plane and how many bags can go underneath the plane... i'm having a hard time trying to figure this out because everyones giving me different answers... so please help me....

WOW I just checked Continental's website Travel information:  baggage information: Freq. Asked Q's: and they are pretty darn restrictive on baggage limits. For tickets purchase prior two 4-5-2008 you are allowed 2 checked bags. Tickets purchased after 4-5-2008 only 1 ! checked bag; They are also resticted by weight and size so  Check their website for more details. Last thing you want to do is over pack and have to pay for additional baggage $25 for additional one bag.

I am thinking 1 carry-on and then 1 checked bag within their specfications BUT if you have more than one bag to check in I think you have to pay $25.

Travelers departing the U.S. may bring carry-on bags through security and aboard the aircraft with trial-size toiletries (3.4 ounces or less) which can be purchased at any drug store.

Toiletries must fit comfortably in one, quart-size (7.5" x 8"), clear plastic zip-top bag. Zip-top bags will be provided if needed.

The zip-top bag may need to be presented separately at airport security so make sure it is easily accessible when you approach the screening area.

Additionally, beverages or toiletries purchased inside the airport beyond the security checkpoints will be allowed onboard the aircraft.

Items greater than 3.4 ounces and/or not contained in a zip-top bag may be allowed on board but must be declared to the TSA at the security checkpoint for screening. These items include baby formula, milk (to include breast milk), baby food, juice, medications and liquids/gels that are needed for diabetic or other medical conditions.

Restrictions vary for flights departing from non - U.S. locations. Travelers should check with the departure airport for specific security restrictions.

Call Continental.  Some airlines are charging for all bags.  Not all are the same.  Remember, you will probably only need about 1/2 of what you want to pack.
