How much lunch meat do I order for a large party? Is there a rule of thumb on how many people per pound?

For a generous rule of thumb, it is about 1/2 pound of deli meat per person.

Broken down, it might be 4-6 slices of meat plus 2-3 slices of cheese for each sandwich.  (Although I personally like mine smaller)  Depending on the thinness/thickness of the cut, it is a generous portion per person.  It equals out to be about 1/2 pound.  It is always best to have too much than to run out of food.
