  1. If you're flying in the USA, most students just rent an airplane from their local FBO.  It's much cheaper than trying to buy one.  A two-seat basic trainer like a Cessna 152 or a Piper PA38 Tomahawk would rent for around $75 per flying hour, but that includes fuel, insurance and all other expenses (except for the instructor.)  A four-seat Cessna 172 or Piper Cherokee would cost $20-40 more for that same flight hour.

  2. Go to    www.tradeaplane.com

Click on airplanes for sale....and have a look.

  3. To rent or buy?

To rent, the best bet is to check with your local flight school for what's available.  Depending on where you live and how old the plane is, a Cessna 172 can rent for between $80 and $120 an hour (instructor not included).

A Cessna 152 is usually $20 to 30 less per hour.

  4. 1000.00 hr

  5. You can get a serviceable used aircraft, adequate for flight training, for $50,000 or less.  A new 172 will cost on the order of $200,000.  Pick up a copy of Trade a Plane at your local fixed base operator.

  6. Or have a number of you buying the same aircraft and share the flying time in it throughout the lot of, even a cessna strimmer is mightly expensive.

  7. a fortune!
