If you're making them, use as much as you want.  At a restaurant, I imagine, a plain jane taco would have about 3 ozs.

In a fast food place the cheapest item is always the one they load up on the taco.  Restaurants will put more meat if you pay a side potion price to the plate.  At home it is what ever floats your boat.  I prefer fish tacos on corn tortilla with halibut.
