How much meat?

i was wondering how much meat the french eat? and if its a big staple in their meals. i'm going to paris and other parts of france in a few days with a group of people and i need to know because i'm a vegetarian and i was wondering how i will fit in.

It's been a while since I was there, but I recall that when meat is served, it's in a lot smaller portions than it is in America.  I didn't see any 18 ounce steaks at the Paris cafes.  However, when I was in Germany, I ordered some so-called vegetarian dish and it had a bunch of vegetables and little pieces of pork!  Go figure.

You need to get your Protein from someplace. Perhaps you should stick to Bread and Cheese and Red Wine.
