  1. If measuring volume 1 gram is equal to a mililiter.  Milimeter is a measurement of distance.  I think you may be talking about ml.  There are 1000 ml in a gram so if you were taking 1/2 gram and you switch to ml that would be 500 ml.  If you want to convert mg to ml, there are 1000 mg in 1 gram or in 1 ml. So if you are taking 500 mg you would take 1/2 a gram or 1/2 a ml.

  2. You don't.

    Ask the prescribing person what to do, and then follow the instructions.

    Death is a very final change to one's lifestyle. Fiddling with meds is a good way to seek that result out.

  3. 1 mg = 1 ml ONLY for water.

    Once you add medication, you need to know the concentration of the solution, usually expressed as mg/ml.

    Without that information, it is impossible to say.

    ml = volume

    mg = weight  There is no direct conversion

  4. it depends on the concentration of the liquid. One ml of a liquid can have different amounts of drug.

  5. You cannot measure medicines in ml only. A lot of liquid medications are solutions that are measured in mg/ml. Once you figure out the concentration of the solution you can measure  your doses accordingly.
