Courses cost anything from £60 / week to £100 / day - shop carefully and compare notes because there are some real crooks out there.

Lodgings - if you want to live quite frugally you can live for £150-£250 / week including your meals but if you like to go out and socialise then double or triple that.

As much as possible. You're looking at around £150/200 a week for lessons. Accommodation really varies. Maybe another £100. Plus living expenses. Cheaper, and often better quality of teaching, if you head out of london to Hastings, or Brighton for example.

It's a lot because it's so expensive to live in London.  Try outside of Londaon for something cheaper.

With all the competition around, english course can go as low as 400 pounds per academic year.  Quality probably won't be guaranteed.  You can find these school in all foreign free papers in London  e.g korean restaurant, japanese supermarket, they should have these papers left outside to be picked up !!
