How much money can you deposit without it having a hold?

I was getting a personal check more then 500,000. I was wondering would they hold that although its a personal check?

With the dollar amount of the check they can hold the check up to 14 days and if they feel it is not long enough or have reasons that the chack may not clear they may place a longer hold. They would have to give a notice to let you know why and for how long if thats the case.

If you indeed meant to type $500,000, yes, it will have a hold on it.  A cashier's check is the best way to avoid a hold.
