What sort of photos are you going to offer?

Portrait? Event photography? Wedding photography? or others?

How much experience do you have? Are you reliable? Do you have a car (to get to an assignment?)  Do you have a back up camera? Do you have an assistant.

You need to have a good portfolio to show your potential client. Having an expensive camera does not really open the door for you (for future customers, I mean).

Then there is the business side of this. You'd deal with some difficult customers (who think you're a magician), or one that wants to pay less (then in this case, they're welcome to find another photographer).

I am sorry I am not exactly answering your question. But you're not telling us much about what you have done.

By the way, if you are capable of producing good photos, to undercut your competitor (by charging inexpensively) will only hurt yourself because you're known as "cheap". Either do it right or don't do it at all, I'd say.
