How much money did each Jewish Holocaust survivor receive on compensations after the 2nd world war?

How much money actually received each of the victims of the Jewish Holocaust whether personally or their relatives /direct families since the end of the 2nd WW from the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS payed IN COMPENSATION by countries such as Germany,Austria,Switzerland,France,etc.

Who handled those funds and who manages it at present ?

  1. I can't give you an exact figure because so many survivors chose to relocate to different areas of the world.  If I had to guess, I would say a lot.  I hope these links help.

  2. It is not "billions of dollars".  However much it was, it wasn't enough to compensate them for the horror they went through and the losses they suffered.

    Germany ended up giving Israel about $250 for each of the six million slaughtered.  Austria has pledged, on the average, about $10,000 to the remaining 20,000 or so survivors who applied for compensation.  Belgium has agreed to about the same for its 5000 survivors who have made claims.

    Not a lot of money considering that their homes and businesses were destroyed along with most of their families.
