When you first start you start on minimum wage which in England is about £12,000. I think you can make between £19,000-£24,000 with qualifications and experience.

In Morris County New Jersey a beginning dental assistant can make as little as $10/hr.

With school training you can make about $14 to start.  

The average for an experienced dental assistant with an x-ray license and no CDA or RDA can make from $16 - $20/ hr.  This all depends on how "broke" the dentist says he/she is.  

With a CDA you can make between $17-$23/hr.

With an RDA you can make between $20 - $27/hr.  

All of NJ counties are different when it comes to pay scale.  As far as I know Morris County pays the best.
